Nova Batida is in its second year of putting on a three day festival of music, art and culture in Lisbon. They approached me to build their website for the 2019 festival in September.

I worked closely with the team to define the flow and structure of the site and ascertain their key objectives.

After putting together wireframes for the site I worked with the brand and illustration creative director to define the style for the site.

The bold and vibrant colour pallet mixed with the playful use of geometric shapes lead to a fresh, eyecatching design and slick user experience.

The site is built using a custom Wordpress theme, with Webpack for SCSS and JS compiling and minification. The backend relies on Advanced Custom Fields with custom content blocks allowing the client to fully customise each page without the risk of effecting the site layout.

As part of the project I setup and manage the hosting with the site sitting on a dedicated European based server, complete with my own built 24/7 monitoring system which opens an incident ticket and sends an SMS text notification if there are any issues detected with the server. This is a service available to all clients.
